Top 3 Reasons to Blog
When people ask me why they should blog, I always give them 3 good reasons:
- Shows Commitment
- Shows Passion
- Positions YOU as an expert in your field
A demonstrated level of commitment and passion is essential in any field, but particularly I think in the charity, non-profit, educational and holistic fields. With commitment and passion you can attract more donors, volunteers, advocates and sponsors. As the market becomes more crowded you need to be able to stand out from the crowd. A well-written blog, fully integrated in a well-planned social media strategy will do this for you. You will also make it easier for journalists to find you and you will become the go-to person for interviews, soundbites, etc.
So dust off your keyboard and get writing. I will be giving you lots of advice on what makes a great blog in forthcoming posts, starting tomorrow with 5 Top Tips for Great Headlines.
